Sophomore Nathan Bailey has hit game-winning baskets three times this season but took a more measured approach to his late-game dominance against BPCC, scoring six of the Seahawks' 13 points in that late run. He finished with a team-best 18 points, adding four rebounds and two steals to his statistics line for the game. Freshman Devaughn Thomas scored five of his 13 points in that same run.

Though only moments before the Cavaliers seemed a contender for the first-round win, by the time the Seahawks took the lead and whittled down the clock, BPCC ran into foul trouble and ran out of time.

The Seahawks jumped out to an early lead, going up by nine with 14:47 left in the first half, following the lead of sophomore guard Alex Williams, who finished with 12 in the game. Williams and freshman Jamyus Jones knocked down two 3-pointers apiece while sophomores Devin Ellis and Nathan Bailey each accounted for five points apiece in the first 20 minutes of play.

The Cavaliers managed to claw their way back into the game, though, thanks to their rebounding prowess, doubling up on the Seahawks 16-8 on the boards in the first half.

The second half told a different story, though, as the Seahawks dominated the boards, flipping the script to out-rebound the Cavaliers 16-8 over the final 20 minutes.

Seahawks sophomore Devin Ellis added 11 points, as did freshman Terrance Minor with adding four assists. Williams led the team with six assists.

The Seahawks get Wednesday off to prepare for the 8 p.m. tipoff against Tyler Junior College on Thursday. That game will be broadcast live via www.coopersports.net with pregame set for 7:30 p.m.
