The Navarro College Bulldogs lived up to their name Monday afternoon in Corsicana.
They were ferocious in the second half, hitting shot after shot to expand a 7-point halftime lead to an 85-64 win over Lamar State College Port Arthur in a 2 p.m. makeup of a February matchup postponed by COVID-19.
The Seahawks were led by Joe Lucien and Ty Archibald, each of whom scored 14 points. Kanntrell Burney and Desmond McQuain added 10 points each.
Navarro improved to 7-5 on the season. LSCPA, now 3-8, hosts Victoria College at 4 p.m. Wednesday, March 8 at the Parker Center.
Jaylen Harrison, a freshman from College Station, swished through 21 points, including 4 3-pointers to lead four Bulldogs into double digits.
Soph Jules Moor scored 10 of his 16 points in the first half as Navarro took a 39-32 in at the break.
Archibald, Seahawk sophomore out of Katy, led LSCPA with 7 points in the first half while Beaumont freshman Lucien scored 6.
