Looking to protect an undefeated season and a No. 15 national ranking, Lamar State College Port Arthur ran out of time in a 92-60 loss to No. 12-ranked Northwest Florida College in the first day of the Pensacola State College Tournament at Hartsell Arena in Florida.

The Seahawks extended their win streak to six games with a win over UpTempo Academy this past week but just couldn't get on track against Northwest Florida on Monday, November 22. NW Florida jumped out to a quick lead, extending its advantage to double-digits before the first 10 minutes of the game had elapsed.

The Seahawks managed to cut it back to a manageable gap at times in the first half, but fell behind by 20 at the break.

Kanntrell Burney and Quindarius Thomas each had 14 points to lead the Seahawks' scoring, while Evan Palmquist hit for 10 points and Kharee McDaniel finished with 9.

Shammah Scott paced the Northwest Florida effort with 17 points.

The Seahawks return to action on Tuesday, November 23, in the second day of tournament play in Pensacola, taking on the home team at 7 p.m. The final day of the tournament sees the Seahawks faciing Gulf Coast State College at 1 p.m. on Wednesday.
