
Coming off the two-week winter break, Lamar State College Port Arthur looked as though it was well rested and ready to claim its first win of 2025. Instead, Navarro College awoke from its winter nap to take an 80-69 NJCAA Region 14 win over the Seahawks on Saturday, January 4.
Sophomore guard Darel Reece led the Seahawks with 26 points, his best scoring performance of the 2024-25 season. He went 11 of 18 from the field with two 3-pointers. He also had three rebounds and two assists. Sophomore forward Ke'Andre Jones added 12 points and freshman guard Zion Young chipped in 10 for the Hawks. Young and Isaiah Brooks each had six rebounds to lead LSCPA, which fell to 4-9 overall and 1-4 in conference play with the loss.
The Seahawks look for a vectory rebound against Lee College of Baytown on Wednesday, January 8, at hte Carl Parker Center in Port Arthur. That game tips off at 7 p.m.
