Lamar State College Port Arthur managed a run in the seventh inning but it was too little to overcome Bossier Parish Community College as the Cavaliers took a 3-1 non-conference win in the Coastal Bend Classic on Sunday, Jan. 27.

Bossier Parish scored a run in the fourth and two more in the fifth before the Seahawks could manage a run rally in the seventh that wound up falling short.

BPCC pitching lost control in the seventh with a walk, hit by pitch and walk to to load the bases in the seventh for the Hawks. With two outs, Elicia Gonzales earned a run batted in when she was hit by a pitch to give LSCPA its lone run of the game.

Britni Hunt went 2 for 2 at the plate, while Olivia Rivera was 1 for 3 with a double for the Hawks. Makasha Brown represented the other hit in the game for LSCPA.
