Hawks go 2 for 4 in CBC Tourney after 7-1 loss to Midland College

Makayla Marquez led the way for the Seahawks with a 2 for 3 performance at the plate and three stolen bases but LSCPA fell short in a 7-1 decision against Midland College on Saturday afternoon.

The Seahawks evened their record at 2-2 after the first tournament of the season.

Haleigh Hughes was the only other Hawk to collect a hit as she went 1 for 3 with the only RBI of the game.

Port Neches pitcher Brylie Dartez got roughed up over the first 1.1 innings, allowing four earned runs on four hits. She was relieved by Mia Guerrero who worked 1.2 innings, allowing two earned runs on one hit. Allie Armstrong finished up in the circle, allowing three hits but limiting the impact to just one earned run with three strikeouts.

The Seahawks will return to action on February 2-3 when they travel to Youngsville, Louisiana for the Mardi Gras Invitational. They are scheduled to play Southeast Arkansas College at 11:30 and Southwest Mississippi Community College at 2 on Friday, February 2. On Saturday, February 3, LSCPA faces Meridian Community College at 2 p.m., then Mississippi Gulf Coast College at 4 p.m.
