Hawks stay undefeated with 86-77 decision over LSU-Eunice

Seahawks sophomore Kharee McDaniel came to play on Saturday afternoon, dominating for 31 points in an 86-77 win for Lamar State College Port Arthur over LSU-Eunice at the Carl Parker Center.

The non-conference win came in the second day of the LSCPA-hosted Texas-Louisiana Challenge. The win keeps the Hawks perfect at 3-0 while dealing LSU-E its first loss of the 2021-22 season.

McDaniel scored 14 first-half points to help the Seahawks rebound from a slow start that allowed the Bengals a double-figure early lead. The sophomore guard from Houston popped four 3-pointers in the game. Sophomore Kanntrell Burney added 22 points for the Seahawks, while freshman Devon McCain had 14 points.

The Seahawks will hit the road when they travel to the East-West Challenge in McKinney, Texas on Nov. 12-13. They will face two NJCAA-ranked opponents in No. 18 New Mexico Junior College at 10 a.m. on Nov. 12 and No. 4 South Plains College at 10 a.m. on Nov. 13.
