Lamar State College Port Arthur owned the boards Monday night against the Houston Gladiators, out-rebounding them 74-40 en route to a 91-65 non-conference victory at the Carl Parker Center in Port Arthur. The win is three in a row for the Seahawks, all at home, as they prepare for their first road trip of the season, a two-day tournament visit to Plano for the Collin County Classic.

While three Hawks pulled down double-digit rebounds against the Gladiators, it was Bentravin Phillips who came away with a double-double performance with 10 points and 10 boards. Jackson Thoele had 10 rebounds with six points scored, and Jaylen Subject had 11 rebounds with eight points. Justin Shorts led the Seahawks with 15 points, while James Kangethe added 10 points. Omari Ward was everyone's best friend on offense, dishing up a team-best seven assists to go along with his seven points.

The Hawks get a short break before getting back in action on Friday at 10 a.m. when they face fellow NJCAA school Odessa College. LSCPA hits the court again at 10 a.m. Saturday against NJCAA's Howard College.

Both games will be broadcast live here on www.lamarstateseahawks.com.
