Riley dominates but Seahawks still fall to Chattanooga

Erica Riley finished a monumental day at the Sun Chief Classic in Gulf Shores, Alabama but Lamar State College Port Arthur wasn't able to pull off its second win of the day as Chattanooga State College rolled to a 15-2 decision in the final game of the tournament.

Riley went 2 for 3 against Chattanooga, finishing the tournament 11 of 18 for a .611 batting average over five games. She had a double, a triple and six runs batted in during the two-day event.

Against Chattanooga, the Seahawks picked up eight hits with freshman Savannah Trahan going 1 for 3 with a double and an RBI. Celeste Salazar was also 1 for 3 with an RBI, while Maleia Taylor, Brooke Smith, Britni Hunt and Vanessa Espitia represented the other hits in the game for LSCPA.

Miranda Pollock took the decision in the circle, allowing eight earned runs on nine hits with three walks in 4.2 innings of work. Savanna Wise finished the game, throwing a third of an inning, allowing two earned runs with two walks.
