Seahawks open 2024 campaign with 6-3 win over Midland College

Sydney Salinas went 2 for 3 with a solo home run and two stolen bases to help lead Lamar State College Port Arthur to a 6-3 win over Midland College in the season-opener for the Seahawks. The win came in the first day of the Coastal Bend College Tournament in Beeville.

The Seahawks scored two each in the first, fourth, and sixth innings, taking advantage of 10 hits and two Midland College errors to put runs on the board.

Makayla Marquez also went 2 for 3 with two runs scored for the Hawks, while teammates Rayven Ramos and Kyleigh Gulledge were each 2 for 4 in the win.

Mia Guerrero pitched a complete game, striking out six while allowing just two earned runs on four hits.
