Seahawks split in first day of Coastal Bend College Tournament

A late-game rally got the Seahawks close but it wasn't enough to overcome a Cisco College early push as Lamar State College Port Arthur took an 8-5 loss in the first day of the Coastal Bend College Tournament in Beeville.

The Seahawks, now 1-1, were down 6-0 heading into the bottom of the fourth inning when the LSCPA offense finally went to work. The Hawks scored 1 in the fourth and two each in the fifth and sixth innings.

Key to that offensive renaissance was a strong performance by Kyleigh Gulledge and Rayven Ramos, both picking up two hits and two runs scored. Brylie Dartez had an RBI-double and a walk in her two at-bat showing.

Dartez threw the first four inning from the circle, allowing four earned runs and four walks on four hits. She struck out five.
