Kerr dominates with 10 RBIs, grand slam home run vs. Cisco College

LaPorte sophomore Morgan Kerr went 4 for 5 with two home runs and 10 runs batted in to lead Lamar State College Port Arthur to a 20-3 run-rule win over Cisco College.

The five-inning affair took place on the second day of the Coastal Bend College Tournament in Beeville as the Seahawks improved to 2-1 for the season.

Kerr's crushed a grand slam home run over right-center in the first inning to set the tone for the rest of the game as the Seahawks amassed 18 hits with six walks. The Seahawks had no strikeouts in the game.

Joining Kerr in the offensive explosion was Rayven Ramos (3 for 5, 2 RBIs, a home run, and 3 runs scored), Haleigh Hughes (3 for 4, RBI, double), Makayla Marquez (2 for 3, 2 walks, 3 runs scored), Denae Hernandez (2 for 4, 2 runs scored), and Karlie Ingle (2 for 3, RBI, 1 walk, 3 runs scored).

The Seahawks were quick on the base paths, picking up five stolen bases, including two by Kyleigh Gulledge.

Mia Guerrero worked the first three innings in the circle, allowing just one earned run on three hits with two walks. Sage Champagne no-hit the Wranglers over the final two innings with two strikedouts.
